Consumer support from software providers is guaranteed long after purchase.

I took my dad's computer after he purchased a mac. I wanted to be able to do my school work with ease without having to ask dad's permission whenever i needed to use the computer. Dad was using a Zonealarm anti-virus software to protect his computer from the harmful computer viruses, but most of my friends were using kaspersky and they were saying how good it was. I had to try the kaspersky anti-virus, therefore I went online and purchased the antivirus. I had to uninstall the Zonealarm software before installing kaspersky in order not to get a computer crash as my IT lecturer had said, but I did not know how to go about it. Since everyone in school was talking about contacting their software providers, I decided to contact zonealarm too and see if they could help. I had their contacts, so I just called the customer support. They were quick to direct me on the un-installation procedure in order not to waste my time since I was already their customer. I was eventually able to install kaspersky anti-virus and I am using it to date.
