A Website Worth The Time It Took To Design

My current favorite website would have to be the-west.net. When I'm not reviewing sites for a web design directory, I love playing this game. It is a browser based game site I came across a few years ago. Although the graphics are basic, the design itself is very appealing, with a simple user interface and navigation. In this time of technical and complicated web sites and gadgets, a simple, uncluttered design is like a breath of fresh air. While all those flash sites may be eye-catching, they just don't have that classic feel that such simple, down-to-earth sites have maintained over the years. The internet has evolved into a flash game filled monstrosity since it's early beginnings, with bright flashing pop-ups and web sites that require java just to be viewed. Many web sites do not even display properly depending on the browser being used, as so many different browsers have a sensitivity to coding that does not match with others. Any site that is simple, neat, and organized, such as The West, is most often viewable no matter which browser is used. Just one more reason for me to love the site and its simplistic design.
